Dohgaith Castle

Dohgaith is a ruin now. A troupe of 30 half-goblin vagrants camp amongst the fallen towers and occasionally dip into the tunnels below to catch a pig, but they haven't been very far due to the "octopus face things".

Encounters

1-3: 2d6 Boars (HD 2, AC as Leather, ATK Bite) 4-5: 1d6 Baby Carrion Crawlers (HD 0, AC as Leather, ATK Paralytic Tentacle) 6: Carrion Crawler (HD 3, AC as Leather, ATK 8× Paralytic Tentacle)

Rooms

  1. A flaking painting of a giant, white-bearded king standing on the ocean and pouring water onto lush farmlands from a golden cup. Crumbling skeletons are piled in front of the painting, 6 baby carrion crawlers writhe among them. Under the pile is the goblet shown in the painting, it turns salt water fresh, and can be used once per day to allow up to 12 targets to walk on the surface of calm water for up to an hour.
  2. Cell flooded by mud, 12 boars wallow gleefully. A string of pearls worth 500sp is hidden in the muck.
  3. Shelves hold mostly soggy mushroom-sprouting books and 8 sealed clay jars full of wheat grains. Each jar is etched with Trebleglyph text that reads "Blood begets blood. Life begets life. Bless me and I will bless you." Each jar is enough grain to plant a 100' square plot, or mill into enough flour to make 16 loaves of bread, which grants +1 HP and a +1 to all saving throws when eaten. If a field of this grain is watered with blood, it will become impassible in a month, with the grasses tangling the feet of any who move through it, attempting to drag them into the earth (save vs petrification to escape). If the planted grain is anointed with holy water, the ripe stalks will pluck themselves and form bushels on their own.
  4. A stone medusa face carved into the wall causes all who see it to save vs petrification or be turned to stone. A kneecap-sized emerald worth 2500sp is set in the medusa's forehead, anyone trying to grab it without looking has a 2-in-6 chance of getting bit by a stone snake, and must save vs poison or be filled with a deep, unabatable fear, forcing them to flee randomly through the corridors.
  5. The prisoner, his skin replaced by a train of brightly coloured fabric, his fingernails replaced by fish hooks and eyes bound with barbed wire. An enchanted nail driven through his hand will keep him alive until his murderer's line ends -- In the nearest village, a widow and her two young children are all that remain of the Dohgaith family.

Traps

X. Pit trap. 2-in-6 chance of triggering. 20' drop with a self-closing door !. False door. If opened, fires 3 spears as a level 3 Fighter.
