Land Ship
This road is patrolled by the Notorious Liar, a sailing boat on wheels, crewed by 60 ghouls. The captain, Felony Van Pike is a chaotic Myrmidon who wears an elven cloak and boots and ring of spell-turning and bears a silvered sabre set with four eyeball-sized onyxes worth 800gp each. Felony is searching for her girlfriend Hemmelnet who is being held by clerics of law in a secret prison for witchcraft.
In the hold, amid dangling sides of curing humanoid meat, is a dark chest engraved with protective runes. Unless the lid is smeared with a drop of Captain Felony's blood, anyone who touches the chest is paralyzed for 1d6 turns and takes 2d6 damage. If this reduces them to 0hp they turn into a ghoul and join the crew. Inside the chest is 2000gp and Duskeater, a sentient longsword.
Duskeater, lawful +1 with 12 Intelligence and 12 Ego. Telepathic, speaks French, reads magic. Can detect magic items and living creatures within 100'. Has the special purpose to slay chaotic magic users, becoming a vorpal blade when used against them or their minions.
