Strange Woodland Hirelings

Iralix the Fat

A broad, bugeyed figure with a wide mouth and heavily freckled skin. Iralix is a weretoad able to transform at will to a giant toad or a toad-human hybrid. They have perfected the ability to fish by sitting open-mouthed in a creek and humming a fish-attracting tune, bagging 2d6 rations worth of fish per day.

Rige the Damned

A gaunt, figure with deep bags under his eyes and dozens of holy symbols draped across him. He is followed constantly by the ghost of his dead wife who flits from helpful to aloof to malicious on any given day (make a reaction roll). Only Rige can see her. She can move through solid objects, and can possess living creatures by touching them (they can make a save vs spells to resist). Rige is searching for a priest, sage or cleric who can help his wife move on to the other side.

Gonto the Vile

A short man, always wrapped in a dozen filthy robes so that only his eyes peek out. His capricious pet hog Wisteria has shaggy brown fur and the distinct hunch of missing vertebrae. She has the ability to smell gold and jewels within 100'. Gonto has stolen an amulet from a tribe of pixies, if held up to the light, it projects a map to an ancient fairy treasure. The tribe is hunting him, every day, a party containing Gonto has an additional 1-in-6 chance of being ambushed by a party of vengeful pixies.
