Three Retainers at the Vagrant's Tears Well
Brutal Benama
HD 3, AC as Half-Plate and Shield, Attack as Battle Axe. A tall blonde woman with a bright red cape and boots, whose muscular arms are covered in scars. Benama is a favourite local prizefighter. She is brash and arrogant, but gracious to her fans.
Benama's mother recently fell ill and requires very expensive medication which sporadic winnings can't cover, which has her looking for more profitable work. Anyone responsible for getting her killed shouldn't show their face in Vagrant's Tears again.
Munao the Tactful
HD 1, AC as Leather, Attack as Dagger. A young, short man with a tidy black cloak, skull cap and goatee. He introduces himself as the apprentice to the wizard Cestuar the Avuncular, but if Cestuar is approached for comment, she will describe him as her errand boy.
Munao can read magic with a 4-in-6 success rate. If he fails to cast a scroll, he can never cast that spell, if he fails to read magic inscriptions such as on a potion or enchanted weapon, he will get an opposite description. He never admits to being wrong.
Jonchur Three Scars
HD 2, AC as Chainmail, Attack as Longsword +1 or Throwing Axe. A tall, well-muscled figure wearing a deep brown cowl. Jonchur is a gnoll. He bears the sentient longsword LIVE STONE EDGE (Neutral, +2 enchantment, Speaks Gnollish and Trebblespeak. Once per day: Turn wielder's flesh to animated stone, giving them AC as Plate. Once per week: animate a stone statue as an HD 4, AC as Plate ally. Upon slaying a target: regain 1d3+1 HP).
LIVE STONE EDGE is an object of worship by Jonchur's clan. The gnoll and sword fell in love when Jonchur began work as the priest's apprentice, and they have been pursued by the clan since they decided to run off together. Neither wishes to explain their situation.
