The People's Handbook of Elemental Conjuring
A mildewed birchwood case containing a torn canvas scroll. Its masterful Merman text describes the true names of several small elementals, details of the rituals required to call them, and information on care and feeding. Each creature is accompanied by a detailed illumination.
- DULPA the Horned. Elemental of Embers. Set the skull of a yearling calf in the heart of a fire that has burned for three days. When the fire dies, DULPA will rise from it. She must be kept dry and allowed to consume a tree for each week that she persists on this plane.
- NAJINEGSHATEP the Clawed. Elemental of Fog. Walk into the ocean on a foggy day. Pick up the largest crab you can find and crack it open an instant before you run out of breath, NAJINEGSHATEP will hatch out as if from an egg. It must be kept wet at all times and fed fish and seaweed daily.
- CAXMA'AIXI the Hulking. Elemental of Stone. Carve a block of chalk from the earth, bring it to a priest to bless. Use the chalk to draw a circle on raw stone, then grind the rest to powder, coating your body. Sleep next to the circle under a full moon. After three days, CAXMA'AIXI will emerge. He requires no food or drink, but must rest for one full day for every three active.
- LORF-XUGNU the Many-Legged. Elemental of Leaves. This section is destroyed beyond legibility
- BUATHVOX the Mechanical. Elemental of Metal.
- LUNCI the Skulking. Elemental of Darkness. Exile an innocent to darkness untouched by the light of sun nor flame. They must not see light while the ritual takes place, but they must not be restrained or guarded. In 1d6 days, LUNCI appears at the foot of your bed, at which point the innocent may be retrieved if they still live. You do not need to feed LUNCI, they can fend for themself, unfortunately they are a messy eater and tend to cause a panic.
Unfortunately only one of the true names is real (NAJINEGSHATEP. HD 2, AC as Plate, Attack as Poison Cloud. Immune to mundane damage. At will can fill a 30' radius with opaque fog that muffles sounds and extinguishes flames smaller than a bonfire). When performing the ritual, the supplicant will always encounter a giant crab (HD 3, AC as Plate, Attack as Claw×2). NAJINEGSHATEP does not tarry long with allies of fire.

Song Of The Recurrence, by Lemnick The Antiquarian
A codex whose wooden cover was once decorated with gold paint and gemstones, both of which have been scraped off, however, its masterwork cotton pages are in excellent condition. Its rambling Buccaneer text explains the cycles of myth and how to spot when mythic events are happening and how to exploit them. If someone who has read this book in the past week can draw a parallel between something that is currently happening and the events of a mythic story, they can predict what happens next with a 2-in-6 chance of success. The bookplate claims a former owner of Emelye Van Zuriaa, a famous playwright.

Letters, by Saint Rydernyn of Talaemenes
A stack of three worn iron tablets. Their masterful Common text introduces a series of proposed new glyphs, each with a pronunciation guide and a list of new possible words. A legendary work, thought lost.

Undoing of the Underworld Usher, by Mabyle Toldo
A codex with a pristine ivory cover and brittle gold leaf pages. Its nearly illegible Dervish text suggests how to convince a psychopomp to linger while collecting a soul. Suggestions include providing ferryman's tax in unfamiliar currency (they are particularly confused by electrum), challenging them to count a number of grains of rice, or having a black cat around (psychopomps are always fond of cats). Scrawled in the back cover is a clerical spell that trades the life of the reader with the recently deceased, this fades as a scroll when cast. Not many copies of this book were made, and most have since been melted down for bullion.
