The Fairest Princess by Vabulary Dall
A sizable wood-bound codex that has been hollowed out and turned into a castle by an army of sentient mice. All of them wear clothes and armor cut from the book's illustrations. The princess, an albino mouse with long, curly fur, has a penchant for knighting her friends - most of her subjects are knights. The mouse knights have explored all of the adjacent rooms and if convinced that doing so would count as a mighty quest, they would happily serve as guides.

The Exploitation of Grinkdock Volumes 1-6 and 8-16 by Adda Fridick.
Leather-bound rice paper volumes with gilded edges. Written in both High and Low Ragilit, these once contained moment-by-moment details of Ragilian army's brutal invasion of the Grinkdock states. While the text has been mostly destroyed by an infestation of bibliographic whelks, the end papers are in excellent condition. Cut from a culturally important Grinkdock painting - The Ascension of Murleos the Prophet - the endpapers make these books valuable to remnants of the Grinkdock aristocracy (10gp per volume), though they would be worth even more if the missing eighth volume -containing the prophet's face - were included (480gp for the full set).

The Dohgaith Tribulations by Xalbador of the Pertinent Organisation
A skin-bound codex of parchment in pristine condition, branded with a pattern of knotted chain. The Trebleglyph text chronicles the tortures of an unnamed prisoner in Dohgaith castle. Throughout the book, passages about time, seasons, landmarks and architecture are underlined and circled, with scribbled notes in the margins deducing the location of the infamous castle, culminating in a hastily-drawn map of the castle's location and the layout of its dungeon including several secret entrances. The book is rumoured to be bound anthropodermically in the skin of the deceased prisoner, though this edition at least is merely bound in pigskin.

Song of Blood and Smoke by Herbrüggen the Sage
A stick-bound parchment tome, its cover painted with interlocking deer antlers and tree branches. Written in Greyrock this is a hymn to Ammacio the Stag, a protector of forests who is best appeased when travelling through them. The book functions as a scroll of protection from beasts, keeping everyone within 10' effectively invisible to mundane animals while it is being read.

A volumen scroll of stitched palm leaves in Goblinspeak Runes that describes common techniques for organizing and protecting warrens. A meandering illustrated digression in the midsection covers the nuances of goblin copulation. Consult once per goblin nest for an extra 3-in-6 chance to spot hidden passages and traps. Consult once per day for +2 to reaction results when trying to flirt with a goblin.

Tosur by Walven the Auburn Vagabond
A codex with a rosewood binding with brass hinges and corner bosses tooled to look like brickwork. The pages are made of silver, hammered silk-thin and the book is tightly wrapped in leather straps and sealed with wax using the author's seal. The text is in nearly-indecipherable Wanderer's Fegdan, though each page of text faces a lush, impossible-looking visage of the legendary city of Tosur. The first time the book is read, a portal to Tosur opens in the air above it for 8 hours.

Enveloping Shadows, Author Unknown
A deep grey leather bound tome painted with distorted faces. The parchment pages inside are covered in charcoal drawings of the same faces on the cover. If the book is opened recklessly, a cloud of charcoal dust emerges, which bestows a curse on the would-be reader: henceforth, anything that steps on their shadow will find themselves trapped until the shadow moves. The curse can be bestowed 3 more times. Careful study of the faces within the book provides the reader with a sturdier sense of self, such that if they were transformed into a creature of shadow, they would have a 4-in-6 chance of maintaining control.

The Carver's Codex by Esdre Tarrou, Poet of Ihazintu
A codex whose knotwork-engraved cover and veneer-thin pages were carved from a single block of whorled walnut. Side-by-side Elder Common and Antique Abyssal text is etched into the page to allow for reading in the dark, though the letters are worn with use. The book contains prayers directed to Aristaeus, Chisel of Man to preserve the reader's youth and beauty. Each day a reader spends an hour in devotion, the prayers grant a 1-in-20 chance of their age reducing by one year and a [new age]-in-20 chance of losing a level.

The Tonboeth List Of Torments by Lemmoo Lutz
A mildewed rice paper codex bound in leather, branded with a pair of skeletal hands, both middle fingers broken. The Boustrophedon Runes record a list of criminals executed by the Despotic Prince Tonboeth, each death more sadistically creative than the last, one victim slowly lowered into boiling acid by chains, another locked in a metal cage and rolled down a mountain, another implanted with giant wasp eggs and released, only to be eaten from the inside out by giant wasp grubs. Would be an important historical document were it not a complete fabrication.
