A carved stone folder etched with baroque ornamentations and marred by black lichen. Inside is a parchment broadsheet written in the language of gargoyles. The narrative is a simple story about a mason engraving the ceiling of a cathedral. It is written in an intricate labyrinth of glyphs of red and silver ink. Reading the words is meant to draw the reader's mind into a slowed, hypervigilant state. After a day spent studying, they could sit on a rooftop for up to a week without eating, sleeping, or blinking, unbothered by the weather or cramps, but aware of everything that goes on in front of them. Moving breaks the spell.
